TITLE:  Computer Laboratory Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Library

REPORTS TO: Manager, Learning Resources Center (LRC)

OBJECTIVE: Assists students with hardware and software in the computer laboratories.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Assists students with hardware and software installed in the computer laboratories.

·       Provides technical support to students and faculty.

·       Oversees work study students during evening hours.

·       Gather statistical information pertaining to computer services.

·       Performs minor computer repairs, as needed.

·       Performs routine maintenance on designated computers in the Library/Learning Resources Center.

·       Performs other duties as assigned by the LRC Manager.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate of Arts degree, preferably in a technology related field.

 

Experience: One or more years of computer related experience

                      Proven customer service skills

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

·       Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with co-workers and LRC patrons.

·       Knowledge of computer systems and MS Office Software.

·       Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students, individually and in small groups.

·       Good oral and written communication skills

·       Ability to work without close supervision.

·       Able to work some weekends and evening hours.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

Provides oversight of evening activities and reports problems to the LRC Manager.

 

PERCENTAGE OF TIME ALLOCATION

.5 FTE (100% Title III)
